Hi Anne, If you can’t walk the whole tour, I’d recommend the following modifications to the walking tour: 1) skip Riddarholms Church 2)don’t walk all the way down Prastgatan – instead turn left on Tyksa brinken and pick up the tour in front of Tyska Kyrkan, 3) End the tour at Parade Square instead of continuing around the castle. That lets you concentrate your tour on the cute little alleyways and the area around the castle. Have a great trip – Stockholm is beautiful!

I’m going this July but I’ve had both knees replaced recently.
Your self guided tour looks awesome but I don’t think I can do all that walking.
Which area do you think I should concentrate on seeing?

Awesome photo journey through Stockholm! It’s one of my favourite cities. I absolutely love the metro – when I clapped eyes on all the artwork located below ground level I was blown away.

That “castle”, the City Hall, is where I’m getting married next year! Stockholm was the firt place my boyfriend and I traveled to together, as a couple, and we’ll tie the knot there. Every time I’ll see that building in the skyline it will just have even more meaning!

Your post reminded me of the beautiful moments I had exploring Stockholm on my own. I have actually sat on one of those benches in Branda Tomten Square, by night, observing the locals. 🙂

Can’t believe that I still haven’t been in Stockholm, even though spent so much time in Finland during the last years! Traveling by metro and taking pictures of the stops are still on my bucket list, but as I see there are much more to see! That warship looks amazing too!
