You’ll have to check with Whistler Blackcomb as to which gondolas/sightseeing chairlifts will be running in May. It is likely that only a fraction of the mountain will be open.
At time of the year you could have warm summer-ish weather. But it could also be cold and rainy. Pack accordingly.
Enjoy your trip.

Great Blog read your Sea to Sky road trip also.
We are coming to Whistler for two nights staying in the Summit Lodge on May 15-16th 2026.
We are a couple of early 70’s UK citizens, first time in Canada hoping to see your fabulous scenery and wildlife.
Please could you advise on clothing, footwear and your suggestions for our stay, (your previous blog Olympic road for bear spotting)
Also could you clarify only Blackcomb gondola working all others closed.
Many Thanks
John

Two nights in Whistler is enough time to see the highlights. There are lots of things to do with kids. Kids will like the Whistler Gondola, and lots of the outdoor activities. There are also several good playgrounds, including one right in Whistler village.

Will be visiting during the summer of 2026. My wife, myself and my 6 year old son. Will be in Vancouver for some days and then to whistler. Main questions are: are there kid friendly things to do in whistler? We are current set to stay 2 nights, 3 days in Whistler and heading straight to Vancouver airport after to head home. Do you think 2 nights is enough or should I extend one more night? Thank you in advance for any help.
