Iceland is definitely a must visit place and it’s an interesting place to be in! Interesting to know winters have shorter days and summer have longer ones. This would definitely help out in the planning and timing of trips.

Iceland is the coolest and the most beautiful place. I have visited there many times but only in summer. I really want to go there in the winter season.

Hi Tania, Lots of people go solo to Iceland all the time and go on organized tours. There are tons of bus tours and smaller van tours that you can take. Check out my friend Audur’s website for recommendations on tours https://iheartreykjavik.net/. She lives in Reykjavik and has been on all the tours she recommends on her site. (I haven’t been on any organized tours in Iceland so I don’t have any I can recommend personally.)

Hello, your blog helps me a lot to carefully plan my trip to Iceland in December. However, how do you think it’s doable for a solo traveler, who doesn’t drive? Because I don’t drive ?.. and renting a car with a driver would be super costly. Any suggestion for affordable tour? Or better, going solo without fear? Thanks!

Such beautiful photos. I’d love to see the aurora borealis, icicle draped waterfalls, snow covered mountains and a glacier ice cave tour! You’ve sold it to me, haha. A pity you were unable to see the aurora borealis that trip.

Awh that is a bit disappointing you didn’t get to see the Aurora but then again, you did see amazing other things. Thanks for the tip on driving in winter. I think people easily forget the road conditions when they are not used to the winter weather like Iceland. It does still seem like an unique experience to visit Iceland in such harsh condition to see the true beauty!
