Yes, I would bring thermals at any time of year for Yellowstone if you are tent camping. It can get quite cold at night. Look at the temperature info at the bottom of the post to get an idea of how cold it might bet at night.

It’s a Peak Design Capture clip. You can buy it directly from Peak Designs or at lots of camera stores.

Elk bugler? Seriously? People manufacture that too? Or is it also China made! World and economy and people! The strangest thing they built in this planet, I tell ya!

Thanks Josy! I agree, if you’re on a budget, places like Uniqlo are great places to get cheap outdoor clothes. However, whenever possible, I prefer to buy outdoor clothes from brands make environmentally and ethically responsible gear. Both Patagonia and Black Diamond use recycled materials and environmentally friendly dyeing processes where possible. They also have committed to ethical manufacturing in their factories. That kind of thing is important to me when buying gear. I also want quality gear that lasts a long time. I have hiking clothing that’s over a decade old – and I hike a LOT!

Although – bear spray?! Oh my goodness, I didn’t even know that was a thing haha! Yellowstone has always been somewhere I’d love to visit and I know for a fact that this packing guide will come in extremely handy for those visiting; you really have thought of everything! Chloe

If you ever need cool hiking clothes that won’t break the bank, have a peek in uniqlo. You mentioned Patagonia and black diamond options (which are both awesome) but uniqlo works just as well, but is so, soooo much cheaper.

p.s I would love to visit yellowstone! This post gives me so much wanderlust!
